The popular satellite was designed by the Danish designer Vilhelm Wohlert for Louis Poulsen in the 1950 s. The lamp is made of opalescent glass and has a metal frame with a porcelain fitting. The lamp is easy to hang and the light source is easy to replace. When the lamp is on, it gives a beautiful diffuse light and direct light downwards.
