West Germany Candle holder Wächtersbach

Glazed ceramic candleholder with tray and conical base in navy blue, anthracite blue, ochre and light brown on a mottled beige background. Made by the wächtersbach factory (wächtersbacher steinguttfabrik) in the 1960s. A 1962 advertisement reads "ceramics that fits our times". A modern statement with a functional, geometric design, also decorated with simple, geometric shapes. This reflects the mid century modern era's quest for simplicity in form, decoration and sober colours. This candle holder adds a touch of colour to your interior and is a remarkable piece.
