Malle époque 1900

Beautiful antique french steamer trunk from the 1900's, in lovely vintage condition, given its great age ! Made of wood covered with fine waxed canvas/paper - gorgeous chocolate brown with wooden reinforcement bands studded with brass nails. Reinforced all round on edges with metal fixed with tiny studs. Two front latches missing, easily replaced/restored, centre front latch intact allowing it to be closed for transport. Opens and closes smoothly and snugly ! Hinges in good functional condition. Inside, lined with "time-worn" striped paper (see photos) - very shabby-chic, but could be relined if wished. The finishing touch : Original travel label of the lady owner "Mme Touzane" ! ...who evidently and roomily used it on her travels - by steamer or train.
