Lampe de table Bauhaus par Hanau Sollux, vers 1930

This lamp was made by heraeus from the town of hanau. (incidentally, heraeus was the company which invented the mercury-vapour lamp, which subsequently led to the development of the tanning lamp.) the lamp on offer here was used in the 1930s as a heat radiation lamp in all sorts of medical facilities. The base is made out of cast iron. The lamp has been polished and chromium-plated. The aluminium body has also been polished. Good original condition. Fully functional.
