Set of 8 mid century dining chairs in oak by Børge Mogensen for Karl Andersson & Söner, designed in the 1950s. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a complete large set by one of Denmark’s most respected designers. With their elegantly understated lines and beautifully shaped frames, these chairs are a refined example of Mogensen’s thoughtful, functional approach to furniture. The solid oak has developed a warm, mellow colour and patina over time, which has been carefully preserved and enhanced during restoration. Each chair has been sympathetically restored with great attention to detail. The frames were lightly stripped, cleaned, and hand-finished with French polish and wax to bring out the depth and richness of the grain, without compromising the integrity of the original finish. The seats have been reupholstered in a rich chestnut aniline leather, chosen for its softness and ability to age beautifully. As with all our pieces, this set of 8 mid century dining chairs has had around a week of skilled restoration work to ensure they are restored to the highest standard.
