Suite of two chairs "Oxford" by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen

The original version of the "Oxford" chair was designed by Arne Jacobsen for professors at St. Catherine's College, Oxford in 1963. The extra high back of the chair has become a symbol of prestige, allowing it to become its own space. The "professor's chair" was later developed in the Oxford series. This innovative example of total design is considered Arne Jacobsen's best work. The chairs are covered with purple wool fabric with a chrome-plated metal base.
