German smoker's accessory stand in wrought iron, 1916. Rare German smoker's accessory stand from the First World War, made of hand-hammered wrought iron with brass details. The tall, freestanding structure incorporates several smoking accessories, including an ashtray, a central holder, and a compartment for matches. The geometric openwork decoration and the visibly hand-crafted surface are characteristic of the German Arts & Crafts and Jugendstil traditions. The large upper bowl bears the inscription “Kriegs-Aschenbecher – R.B. 1916, ” identifying it as a war ashtray and dating the piece to 1916. A very decorative and unusual historical object, preserved with its original dark patina, surface wear, and marks of time. Specifications. Origin: Germany. Period: 1916.
