Coffre de mariage syrien du 19e siècle avec incrustation de nacre

Antique syrian wedding chest from the 19th century, inlaid with mother of pearl and silver wire. In the middle east, parents gave each of their daughters a wedding chest inlaid with mother of pearl as a wedding gift, filled with household linen. Height: 55 cm. Width: 130 cm. Depth: 52 cm. The top was originally also black, but this has worn off over the years. Not all mother of pearl pieces and silver wire are still present. The lock has disappeared. The chest also has 2 small storage compartments on the left and right. Origin: syria, 19th century. Material: walnut, mother of pearl, silver wire.
