Conçu à l’origine par charlotte perriand en 1953 et produit en très petit nombre dans les années 50. L’ombra a été inspirée par les lignes pures et l’artisanat de la fabrication de meubles japonais, une inspiration qui est venue à perriand dans les années 1940 alors qu’elle vivait au japon. Les chaises ombra ont été exposées pour la première fois à l’exposition d’art et de mobilier de tokyo en 1955 où perriand a co-animé ses créations avec le corbusier et fernand léger. Cassina a réalisé le potentiel de ce modèle à la fin des années 90 et a réintroduit le modèle en 2004. Dans ce cas précis; les chaises ont été estampillées n° 00758 et 00776. Edition Cassina d'origine certifiée. Les chaises sont à l’état neuf, entièrement rembourrées dans un nouveau tissu bouclé. Le travail chromé est très bon.

The ombra was inspired by the pure lines and craftsmanship of japanese furniture making, an inspiration that came to perriand during the 1940s when she was living in japan. The ombra chairs were first displayed at the tokyo art and furniture exhibition in 1955 where perriand co-hosted her designs with le corbusier and fernand léger. Cassina realized the potential of this model at the ending of the 90s and reintroduced the model back in 2004. Of course the frame is stamped with the official cassina logo, providing for the authenticity of the chairs. Certified original Cassina edition. In this specific instance; the chairs have been stamped as no. 00758 and 00776. The chairs are in new condition, fully reupholstered in new bouclé fabric. The chrome work is very good.
